Proposed Affordable Rural Housing in Longstock
About English Rural and Our Partners
English Rural is a specialist non-profit rural housing association, established in 1991. We only build and manage homes in village locations, principally across the south of England. All the homes we build are designed to benefit local people and remain affordable "in perpetuity". We are also one of the leading national advocates on affordable rural housing issues, with HRH The Princess Royal as our Patron.
With its long history and wide-ranging commercial enterprises, the Leckford Estate understands that the vitality of a village relies on a successful combination of economic and social factors, including the sustainable benefits which good quality affordable housing can bring to a community.
What Is Proposed?
We are proposing a small development of twelve new homes for local people, available for affordable rent or shared ownership, and comprising
2 x one bedroom flats
4 x two bedroom bungalows
4 x two bedroom houses
2x three bedroom houses
Local residents will always have priority access to these properties, which will remain owned and managed by English Rural Housing Association. The rented homes will not be available to buy and the maximum shared ownership available to purchase will be capped at 80%.

Proposed Location
The proposed site, outlined in red, lies off of Church Road and is being made available by the Leckford Estate. Although outside the village boundary the site is central and provides easy access to many of the village facilities.
